When recruiting at Commodities Corporation, a legendary hedge fund acquired by Goldman Sachs in 1997, John Breault, the founder, wanted to build deep partnering-like relationships with a few boutique search firms who were both broad and deep in the positions in which they specialized.
Mr. Breault took this philosophy to B&S where the firm specializes in all hedge fund and private equity positions. Clients often ask B&S to fill esoteric and hard-to-fill positions. On occasion Breault & Smith has and will partner / joint venture with other firms if in the best interest of its clients.
B&S performs over 50 searches per year for positions with total compensation ranging from 75K to 1M including:

COMPENSATION AND OTHER CONSULTING
Customized compensation reports are our forte. Reports include:
CFO compensation report using ten funds chosen by client; Operational Due Diligence job family report; Accounting job family in Bermuda; etc.
Mr. Breault has been performing compensation consulting since 1986 and has created and sponsored hedge fund compensation reports.
