Director/Sr Manager/Manager - Asset & Wealth Management Investment Operations and Accounting (Position can be located in Boston, New York or Springfield, MA; multiple positions in Asset & Wealth Management; $7B market cap firm with >5000 employees; compensation ranging from 100k base to 175k base with bonus and stock options (possible))


Director/Sr Manager/Manager – Asset & Wealth Management Investment Operations and Accounting

Our client has an investment processing service group that provides back and middle office accounting, reporting and operations support. 


Position provides consistently accurate, cost-effective and reliable investment accounting for clients and support our clients after tax profits and growth strategy.  Responsible for providing information and support to clients.  Responds and troubleshoots problems through discussion with clients.


Primary Functions:       

Specific functions include:

  • Oversee back and middle office investment operations and accounting for Asset & Wealth Management clients
  • Maintain relationship with various clients, including leading operations, governance and vendor review meetings
  • Project Management of client specific initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring daily, monthly and quarterly reports are delivered timely and accurately to clients, including accounting reconciliations, general ledger, profit and loss, compliance and performance reporting
  • Develop and implement consistent policies and procedures for clients (e.g. cancel/corrects, TBA’s, control functions such as reviewing aged income, custodian reconciliations), business analysis, new requirements, workflow, operational review.
  • Assist with researching complex account issues
  • Manage career advancement for staff
  • Manage staffing requirements; anticipate recruiting needs and take necessary action to retain quality resources
  • Create operational metrics and key performance indicators and review periodically with client

Secondary Functions:

  • Manage process improvement for clients and share quantifiable results with other managers
  • Successfully manage implementation of new clients and other process improvement projects as necessary.
  • Actively participate in developing consistent policies and procedures for the department

 


Qualifications:

 B.S. Accounting or Finance and  CPA, CFA, MBA, ACCA, CIMA a plus
 

Experience & Training:

  • 5 to 15 years investment accounting or related experience with emphasis on Asset & Wealth Management
  • Strong experience with Fixed Income products and common stocks
  • Experience in supervising and developing staff
  • Experience in guiding staff on issue resolution
  • Proven ability to meet daily deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Experience using Excel, Word
  • Project Management experience is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of derivative products, including Options, Futures, Swaps and FX trades
  • Knowledge of trading life cycle
  • Knowledge of amortization, book value and yields
  • Knowledge of performance and attribution
