Tax Manager/Director - Business Entities

Tax Manager/Director - (Boutique Public Accounting firm; Washington DC area; be a big fish in a small pond where excellence and client service trump bureaucracy)

Our client provides comprehensive international, U.S., state, and local tax services including the preparation of tax returns and tax planning for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, high net-worth individuals and estates. We are seeking highly dedicated Managers and Directors to join our tax department and experience career opportunities that support personal and professional development in a challenging and rapidly expanding environment.

Tax Managers and Directors are responsible for effectively coordinating client services; managing the tax team and client relationships.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manages and reviews business tax returns for Partnerships, LLC’s, Corporations, and other business entities 
  • Provides tax planning and consulting services for the business entity and individual owners 
  • Completes in-depth tax research and consultations on various tax matters 
  • Manages and drives the success and profitability of multiple engagements 
  • Ensures a high level of client service and satisfaction while managing budgets and deadlines 
  • Develops, motivates and trains professional staff; offers staff career counseling and guidance; conducts timely performance reviews and provides on-going feedback 
  • Stays on top of latest developments affecting GAAP, other areas of the tax department, and the firm 
  • Promotes the firm’s services to clients and prospects 
  • Performs other related duties as required/assigned 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA license 
  • 6+ years of recent public accounting experience 
  • Must have a solid understanding of U.S., state, and foreign account filing requirements 
  • Must have a working knowledge of the impact on individual owners of business entities 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, team player mentality, and high ethical standards required 
  • Absolute adherence to strict confidentiality and privacy considerations
