Sr Manager- Private Equity Real Estate Accounting

Sr Manager- Private Equity Real Estate Accounting– (mid-town or Westchester location; firms is growing at 30%; excellent opportunity for advancement; run a team of 7 or more accountants; base 140 to 160k plus bonus and potentially stock options)


Responsibilities Include:

·         Be THE SME (Subject Matter Expert) on all private equity real estate accounting

·         Managing a team of private equity and real estate accountants who act as daily points of contact for our clients.  Offload a more Senior Director and be involved in sales process.

·         Providing client service on a multitude of matters including recording and analyzing transactions, reconciliations, and preparation of work paper packages

·         Ensure team is following standard procedures and utilizing best practices for private equity administration

·         Coordination of external audits, Form PF filings, Management Company reporting requirements

·         Review and Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and partner capital recording packages including all supporting work papers and disclosure documents

·         Assisting with integrating new clients onto PE software packages with prior Investran experience a plus

·         Interacting with clients at various levels and maintain client relationship

·         Responding to client inquiries and requests

·         Preparation of client service plans, calendars and timelines

·         Business Development – participate in the growth of the private equity business, attend client presentations, work on proposals/contracts, and help drive technology initiatives

Skills and Knowledge Desired:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

·         Near expert in all aspects of private equity accounting

·         CPA and knowledge of Yardi, MRI and/or Skyline a plus

·         10+ years’ experience in private equity operations management

·         5+ years with in a PE, VE or real estate fund

·         Familiarity with preparing and reviewing of capital call and distribution calculations, management fee calculations, waterfall calculations and preparation of financial statements

·         Knowledge of partnership accounting

·         Knowledge of US GAAP

·         Ability to work under pressure and manage tight internal and client deadlines

·         Strong communication skills, including written, listening and presentation abilities

·         Solid  attention to detail

·         Solid client relationship management skills
